Engage with Your Community

Communities

Communities

Designed for back-and-forth communication among members of a specific group. Each community has its own custom web page, so all the messages are displayed for members to refer to.

As a security measure, a Community Group moderator only has access to the board they are assigned to. They do not have access to the Membership Toolkit Dashboard where all other included tools are managed, and they do not have access to community member’s email addresses.

Communities make it easy to:

  • Communicate with groups of people you define.
  • Easily share comments, photos, videos, and documents among your entire community.
  • Create events specific to your community.
  • Once a message is posted, contacts for that community will receive an email.

Who’s Who in a Community?

  • Creators can edit, remove, allow comments, pin important posts, history, and debug a post for a community. They can also choose if moderators or all community members can post messages.
  • Moderators can do everything a creator can, but they cannot edit a post.
  • Users/Group Members can access the website page for their community and can comment/reply to posts. They receive an email or app notification each time a post is added.
  • Membership Toolkit Admins create Communities for Creators.

Popular ways to use Communities

  • Classroom Boards – Teachers and/or room parents can send messages, reminders, and electronic flyers to every family in their class. By using our List Module for the teacher list, you can easily bulk update teachers and the boards they are associated with.
  • After School Activities – Each activity can have its own Community, and the instructor/moderator can easily communicate with all the families taking part.
  • Committees of HOAs, Parent Organizations, Social Organizations, etc. can use a board to communicate plans, meetings, and more.
  • Fine Arts or Athletic Groups can create a community for each team sport, dance level within a dance studio, band group like marching, non-marching, percussion, Color guard, Chaperones, etc.

Two Way Communication

  • Encourage discussion on important topics or brainstorm new ideas by adding Comments to any website page.
  • This ability to allow your community to chat back and forth is a favorite of many customers! Included only with select plans, so ask us about it.

Ideas Galore

Comments can be used to foster discussion for any type of organization:

  • PTOs & PTAs – Committee Members communicate to plan different fundraising events for the year.
  • HOAs – Create a “Lost Pet” Page where members can post if their pet has gone missing, so everyone is quickly alerted.
  • Non-Profit Organizations– Board Members discuss how to recruit more members.

Never Miss A Message

  • You are notified  when new comments are posted.
  • Notifications are batched every 4 hours so that comments do not overwhelm your inbox.

You Control Who Sees & Comments

  • Admins determine who within your organization can see the page with comments as well as who can post and who can comment.  So have complete control to ensure your organization’s information is private when necessary.

Communities and Comments are only available to Premium and Concierge Plan customers.
